General #
Default Package Values #
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Default App Script Author | Filled into every new package |
| Default RequireAdmin | Not Defined (use the toolkit’s value) / True / False |
| Default Output Folder | Where built packages and exports are saved. Browse opens a folder picker. |
Signing Certificates (Pro) #
Manage the certificates that sign MSIX and App Attach packages. One certificate is the active one, and it signs your builds.
| Control | Description |
|---|---|
| Generate test certificate | Creates a self-signed certificate. Enter the publisher/subject (CN= is added for you) and the validity in months (1–120). |
| Upload certificate | Upload a .pfx, .p12, .cer or .crt file, with its password if it has one. The password is not stored. |
| Use for signing | Makes this certificate the active one |
| Remove | Deletes the certificate |
The badges on a certificate are:
- Active — signs builds
- Self-signed (test)
- Expired
- No private key — can’t sign
Certificates are stored encrypted for your Windows user. If you never configure a certificate, one is created automatically on the first build.
Self-signed certificates are fine for testing. Target machines must trust the certificate; the
.cerfile saved next to every build makes that easy. For production, upload a certificate from your company’s certificate authority.
Documentation Options (Pro) #
Include README.md in exported packages adds package documentation to every PSADT ZIP.
Package Storage (Pro) #
Move the package workspace to a shared folder, for example \\server\share\PackageWizard, so several packagers can work on the same packages.
| What | Where it is stored |
|---|---|
| Packages, uploaded files, built packages, PSADT templates, FSLogix rule sets | The shared folder |
| Preferences, connections and secrets, signing certificates, toolkit downloads, logs | Always on this computer |
To use shared storage:
- Enter the Package Storage Path (or click Browse) and click Apply.
- The path is checked. It must be a full folder path that you can write to.
- If you have local packages, you can copy them to the shared folder:
- Items that already exist there are skipped.
- Nothing is deleted from your computer.
- The app reloads.
To go back, click Use local storage. The shared folder is not changed.
Notes for teams:
- Each teammate sets the path once. The setting is per computer.
- One person at a time per package. The app does not merge edits made at the same time. The last save wins.
- If the share cannot be reached at startup, a banner explains the problem, and nothing is saved until you click Retry or switch back to local storage.
Windows Sandbox #
Shows whether Windows Sandbox is ready for Test in Sandbox:
| State | Meaning |
|---|---|
| Enabled | Ready to use |
| Not enabled | Click Enable Windows Sandbox. Windows shows an administrator prompt and installs the feature; restart afterwards. |
| Restart required | Restart Windows to finish enabling it |
| Not available on this edition | Windows Home does not include Windows Sandbox |
PSADT Toolkit #
- Active Toolkit for Export shows:
- which PSADT toolkit is used (Bundled or a downloaded version)
- its module version
- whether custom extensions are included
- Auto-check for toolkit updates on startup checks GitHub for new PSADT releases.
- Download Latest PSADT downloads the newest PSADT release from GitHub and makes it active. An Update available badge appears when a newer release exists.
The former Use Custom Toolkit option has been removed. Use PSADT Templates to keep your customisations across toolkit updates.
PSADT Templates #
See PSADT Templates.
Package Configuration #
Shows the settings from the active toolkit’s Config/config.psd1, grouped into cards. Change values and click Save Settings to write them back.
