Hinge systems
Simonswerk, a global manufacturing company, was facing difficulties with its slow and expensive process for setting up new notebooks. The tool they were using, ACMP, required a lot of IT infrastructure like servers and databases, making it difficult to manage.
The process was also highly manual, requiring individual configurations and software installations for each notebook. This often led to mistakes, delays, and frustration for both the IT team and employees, especially as the company grew and expanded across different locations. The company needed a solution that would speed up the setup process and work consistently at all their offices around the world without the need for heavy IT infrastructure.
This led to security gaps, a lack of auditability and configuration drift. The internal IT team, already stretched thin, struggled to keep pace with frequent OS and patch updates while managing a growing number of endpoints across multiple network zones.
This solution made sure every notebook had the same software installed, no matter where it was.
Consistent setups, zero hassle
XOAP’s Application Management module automated the installation of software across all notebooks, ensuring that every device – no matter where it was deployed – received the same set of applications. This eliminated manual setup, increased reliability and ensured consistent software environments company-wide.
XOAP’s Configuration Management module used Desired State Configuration (DSC) to enforce consistent system settings on every device. It allowed the IT team to centrally define and apply configurations – so even remote notebooks stayed aligned with company policies without needing a connection to the corporate network.
XOAP worked smoothly with Simonswerk’s existing IT setup and didn’t require any extra servers or databases in each office.
Because of XOAP’s hybrid IT approach, the IT team could manage all notebooks from one central location.
Devices could get software updates and settings, whether they were on the company network or working remotely, which made it much easier to support remote employees and avoid manual setup.
Simonswerk used XOAP’s Application Management to push a consistent software set to every notebook automatically.
Configuration Management module applied system settings using DSC to ensure each device matched the desired configuration.
XOAP’s hybrid infrastructure enabled the IT team to manage devices globally, both on and off the network, without needing additional hardware or local servers.
Thanks to XOAP's hybrid IT approach, managing notebooks across offices worldwide is simple, centralized and cost-effective. No extra hardware needed.
Added value for standardized device setup and maintenance
We make sure every device is set up the same way, no matter where it is, for a more organized and trouble-free experience.
Windows 11 best practices
Improve security, performance and stability of your systems.
Standardized packaging
Easily install, update and manage software without issues.
DSC instead of GPOs
Automatically set up and keep systems the same, making everything easier and more reliable.
No need for VPN
XOAP manages notebooks on and off the corporate network, allowing updates and configurations without requiring office presence or VPN connection.
Simper IT management
The centralized management system simplifies how IT staff handle notebook configurations and updates. Instead of managing scripts or Group Policy settings, the team uses Desired State Configuration (DSC) to keep all notebooks aligned with the same configuration standards.
Faster deployments
Software installation and system setup automate key deployment tasks, speeding up notebook rollout and enabling new employees to start quickly.
Reduced costs
The company avoids costly IT infrastructure at each location, saving money on servers, databases, and hardware. Supporting hybrid IT, the system works anywhere in the world without requiring on-site equipment.
Consistent setup
Ensuring every notebook has the same configuration regardless of location is a major challenge. This is addressed by standardizing the setup process so all employees, whether at headquarters or remote, have consistent software and system settings on their devices.
Quicker onboarding
Employees benefit from faster, more reliable notebook setups, improving their experience and shortening the time new hires need to start work. This reduces downtime and helps employees get productive sooner
